autonomy vs stimulation

🙏🏿 Autonomy and control vs (over)stimulation. Looking for resources!

I've seen mentions multiple times now, and I'd really love to know more about it! The idea that having autonomy and control in a situation makes it easier to deal with (over)stimulation. Thanks already!
